Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect when visiting?
At our morning service you will receive a warm welcome. If you're early someone may well show you around a bit if you would like. Our service starts right on 9:30am. We sing very well known hymns as well as contemporary worship songs accompanied by the organ, piano or guitar. Often there will be a kids' talk, and sometimes even a kids' song (this might be accompanied by ukulele or whatever instruments are at hand). Our minister leads the church in prayer, someone will read from the bible and then the passage is explained and applied to contemporary life. We try and keep the service pretty close to an hour (it's normally less).
Is there parking available?
If there is not a surf carnival or similar on, then there will normally be plenty of parking in the streets above the church each Sunday morning. You might want to try Ocean Rd, Ocean Lane or simply further up Raglan St. Most of this parking is limited to 2hrs, but we try and keep our services to slightly less than an hour so there is still plenty of time to meet people before or hang around after for coffee and a chat.
There is a council carpark directly opposite us on Raglan St. Most of the spots in here suit smaller cars only. This carpark is currently free and has a five hour limit.
There are a number of other council carparks within a short and pleasant stroll of St Andrews. Most of these are free for the first two hours. For more info click here.
Do you have programs for kids?
Children are as much a part of our congregation as anyone else. Please do not concern yourself about their noise- God made the wiggles in our kids! There is a toy box at the front right of the church for them to access at any time. Preschool, infants and primary kids are welcome to join our Kids Church part way through the service (during term time) where they enjoy worship, games and learning at their own level with experienced teachers.
Do you hold Communion?
Communion is celebrated during the service on the first Sunday in March, June, September and December and is open to anyone who claims Jesus as their Saviour.
